Shop the Block

by Edies Shoes on December 12, 2011

As beautiful as all the department store window displays are this time of year, navigating downtown shopping traffic is about as appealing as a root canal. Lucky for Seattle-ites, right up Pine is home to some pretty amazing shops (including ours, of course!)  Area 51 is great for anyone who loves home decorating. Grab a bag of coffee for the caffeine addicted at Bauhaus, an outfit for the style obsessed at Scout, treats for the kittens and pups at Mud Bay, and shoes and accessories for your loved ones here! I have asked my siblings to consider getting me a new handbag since mine is tore up! I love this one by Tano *hint hint, right?*

Happy shopping!

Equinox Studios Open House!

by Edies Shoes on December 10, 2011

I’m not sure why, but I’m having a problem finding gifts this year! There were a couple no brainers, of course I got them up at Edie’s:) I stocked up on Smartwool stocking stuffers (my family *loves* Smartwool), and picked up some necklaces by Gretchen & Eloise ($35 necklaces?! Yes please!)…. and that’s how far I got. Soooo…. I need some inspiration.

I was excited to hear about this open house, because it sounds like a great opportunity to find inspiration, and hopefully pick up some goodies! Not to mention, it sounds like a bunch o’ fun! Bands, local art & goods, poetry, refreshments… hooray! Worth a trip down to Georgetown, for sure.

See ya’ll there!

Bundle Up!

Not so keen on cutting down your own tree? Check out this link for a few great local spots for us city dwellers!

http://capitolhillseattle.com/2011/11/26/nearby-options-for-2011-capitol-hill-christmas-trees

The past few years, I’ve picked up a tree from Dunshee House and they are great! They’ll even help you tie it to the roof of your car! And considering December 1st is World AIDS Day, what a great time to help out a great cause.

As you head out, don’t forget to wear your warm and cozies! These Aerin Fairisle Wristwarmers from Wooden Ships are super cute and keep your fingers free! $40.

AbFab Christmas!

by Edies Shoes on November 28, 2011

Look at that! I asked Santa for more Edina and Patsy and WISH GRANTED! I can’t wait for this Absolutely Fabulous Christmas Special. Those ladies love their shoes, just like me! (I wonder if there will be any Hudsons…I’ve seen the boxes on other British shows!!)

Don’t forget, we have Gift Certificates! If you are, or know, an Edie’s fan, it’s a GREAT gift!

Last Minute Thanksgiving!

by Edies Shoes on November 23, 2011

One of the things I LOVE the most about holidays is having a reason to get all dolled up! You still have time to pick up a cute pair of shoes for your celebrations tomorrow!

Ladies, this is style E877 from Fidji, $185. I love the button detail and they are the perfect heel height!

For guys we have Antebellum, $205 from Maison Forte. Great two-tone detailing!

If you’re looking for (or desperately need!) a cocktail or five after giving thanks with your family, word on the street is that The Unicorn, Linda’s and The Lobby Bar on Capitol Hill will be open Thanksgiving night!

Thanksgiving

by Edies Shoes on November 17, 2011

In the retail business it is so tempting to push Christmas as early as possible. We all would love a few extra big sale days, but I have been a little bummed out that Thanksgiving has been pushed aside because of it. Before the decorations go up in the store and before the reminders of how many shopping days you have left, I just wanted to give thanks. To you the customers, for years of support and loyalty. To my employees, for always going the extra mile and making it all possible. To friends and family, who have jumped in to help paint a wall, cover a shift, or just understood when work came first. Thank You.

I hope you have to opportunity to celebrate the Thanksgiving Holiday by just toasting that you made it another year, through hard times and great ones and remember who helped you along the way.

Have a great holiday season and Happy Thanksgiving!

Super Tsubo’s!

by ediesshoes on October 17, 2011

Leave it to Tsubo to create an interesting heel for the fall. This “Tursa” pump comes with a spat for additional warmth, and that ankle bootie feel. Remove it when you feel like wearing this season’s very on trend platform pump. Best thing about this shoe? It’s SO comfy! That’s right gals, a true-blue comfortable heel. Tsubo makes their interior based on that of a running shoe, so you know there’s a lot of cushioning for all the walking around you’re doing. They will go fast, so make sure you drop in soon to pick up a pair! $160
